Contracts Manager (District Heating)

Our client is currently recruiting for an experienced Contract Manager for a number of extremely prestigious and high profile long term energy supply contracts.
Responsible for significant district energy schemes in London the role will have all the exciting challenges and opportunities offered for a self-starter to develop the role and their contribution to the business. The contracts involve operating and maintaining major combined heating and power (CHP) energy schemes to supply energy to a range of consumers on a long term basis.
The company wishes to expand and consolidate the team to deliver operational excellence by appointing a proven Senior Contract Manager. Reporting directly to the Operations Director, this position will work closely with wider Operational team together with associated support functions.
This role will demand a high standard of technical and operational excellence and the robust working practices needed to meet the challenges of this demanding operating environment.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in this field and the relevant industry qualifications including:-
- Proven and demonstrable experience of District Energy Schemes
- Evidence of the operation of cooling, heating and power generation plants with high levels of availability, output and efficiency
- Understanding of reciprocating engine generators in stationary applications for power generation, engine control systems and heat recovery systems in a CHP application would be advantageous
- Strong leadership skills to effectively manage empowered teams who will deliver service excellence
- Strong customer focus and relationship management
- Providing quality monitoring and reporting
The Contracts Manager is a key position in the successful delivery of operational contract obligations. The Contract Manager is empowered and responsible for the following key deliverables ensuring that:
- Contractual obligations are fully delivered, in a safe manner and in accordance with good engineering practice
- Ensure clients and consumers have a high level of customer satisfaction
- Ensure the contracts are delivered in accordance with, and where possible exceeding, the agreed budgets (maximizing turnover, gross margin and profitability)
- Ensure that all PPMs, reactive and proactive maintenance works are carried out in accordance with contractual requirements to time and on budget
- Ensure timely completion of all PPM documentation
- Produce a monthly operating, financial and resource report for the Operations Director
- Be responsible for Health and Safety on site including Risk Assessments and Method Statements
- Sole responsibility for Gross Margin on contract profitability
- Review monthly report for energy usage and implement any action defined therein to ensure optimum plant operation.
- Manage the operational staff under their control including ensuring that appropriate resources are provided at all times to meet critical operational demands.
