My clients' UK-based Environmental Policy team provides policy, technical and economic advice on the development of environmental policy and business response to policy at a strategic level. They work for a variety of clients such as the European Commission and various UK Central Government Departments, as well as for international agencies, industry trade associations, individual companies and national governments. The role represents an excellent opportunity to take a leading role with a well established and highly credible organisation who are well positioned to continue their prominent position in this area.
The role will include business development, project delivery as well as management/direction of individual projects and providing technical direction to more junior staff and staff management responsibilities.
Experience / Background
You will be expected to have excellent knowledge and skills in some or all of the following:
- Good knowledge of climate change policy areas at an EU and UK level, such as EU ETS, the climate and energy package 20-20-20 targets, UK Climate Change Act, Effort Sharing Decision etc. Experience of working with public sector organisations is required.
- Knowledge of low carbon technologies, GHG emission inventories, CCS and NER300, Monitoring, Reporting and Verification and adaptation are also desirable.
- Policy analysis experience, including cost-benefit analysis and knowledge of specific legislation concerning industrial emissions and wider climate policy.
- Proven in leading delivery of policy work within the climate change field, including a relevant network of existing contacts.
- Relevant consultancy experience required includes a track record in managing and delivering portfolios of consultancy projects on time and to budget. Successful track record successful tendering for contracts in the climate change field, specifically on provision of policy advice.
